Here is the picture of the Canadian Horseshoe Falls from the Oakes Inn motel. At night, the water flow over the falls drops dramatically to feed the huge reservoirs to generate electricity for Buffalo, New York and Niagara Falls, Canada. Diverting much water from the Falls also slow down the erosion rate of the Falls. Otherwise, several feet will be eroded each year. We were told that the Horseshoe Falls did not look like this picture when the Falls were first discovered. The Canadian Horseshoe Falls are a lot larger than the American Falls. Below is another view of the Horseshoe Falls from a helicopter.
