The theme was quite simple, keep the chanel for chatting, prevent rude takeovers, and avoid too many mass floods and mode changes. In practice, this isn't so, mainly due to lack of concern and/or respects for others ("chanel's culture"). Why? .. well, they could be anything, can't find a toilet tissue, a bad day in school, bf/gf problems, but mainly from our humanly flaws such as ego, needs for attention, hatred, anger, jealousy, revenge, etc. Yeaa... u name it. we all have it.. The difference is that some people knows how to manage them better than other. It is always interesting to observe how people behave behind the monitor.. and wonder how they are in real life. =)
The bots in #Siam #Thailand runs for the purpose of serving general user, not as a tool for any single operator to maintain channel control. They have a rather large userlists and also many people can add more user to the list. You will see that most users that has been around in #siam for a while and have access to bot, don't op themselves when they go in channel nor do they hold on to operator status, for they know that being operator isn't for showing off or use to intimidates other people, rather, it is there as a means of channel defense when there is problem like rude disturbance, and channel take overs. If the user is found to play around too much or abuse the use of operator status (ie: kick/ban other users for personal reason), they are usually taken off the bot's user-list.
