Life without sports?
I for one would go nuts.
"Sure, I'd LOVE to play (name your sport) but I don't know anyone to play with!" All but too common phrase for alot of people who moved a new place, from or to Thailand. Ofcourse you can commit a time and money in to joining sports club. You still have to go through that process of finding the right partner and adjusting to the 'sport culture' there.
The difference in 'sport culture' can be frustrating. For example, what I heard, in Thailand's tennis club, you can only wear prehistoric white pants/skirt to play. And if you surf hard, that's "bad manner".
I'm sure some of you would like to get together with people with similar playing stlye and skill level. This is what SiamWEB Sports Corner is for. Link you up with a partner of the same interest. You can post to our web board, which sport you are interested in and also your contact information. Unlike sportsclub, this doesn't cost you to join! If there is enough people in the same place, we might set up a group meeting for a few games. Don't be shy, you only live once, play hard. ;)
Skill level
What is your skill level? Are you starting up and would like a partner to start with you... Do you want to be teached... or do you enjoy teaching... or want to improve your game.. Do you like to hussle.. competing?
For example in golf, I could say.. " I hit around 85-95. I am not too serious of a player. I do enjoy occasional jokes and have a good laugh. I also like play 'skin' game once in a while." ...etc.
Playing Stlye
Since each person stlye of playing a cirtain sport is different,
you should describe how you like to play the sport or what kind of partner
are you looking for. For example, in tennis, Are you the type who likes to hit endless rally for excercise, or are you looking for games and compettition.
Contact information
Also let others know where about you live and the time that
you would like to play so they can hook up with you. For example, Rollerblade:
"I live near the Mall nonthaburi but I wouldn't mind going out to
suan jutujak on the weekend and run these rollerblade up someones rear
end. " hehe.
