The gleaming ax ripped open the door.
My heart beat louder than the deafening blows.
I lay in bed, petrified like a stony corpse.
A tall dark figure flash to my side.
His chilling voice cut through my ears.
He was here to claim
My treasure.
Roaring with laughter,He grabbed my wrist,
Forced open my clenched fingers,
Held suspended in mid air his glinting ax.
Trapped in my body
I screamed the unheard screams.
Take anything you want, but not my fingers!
Take anything you want, but not my fingers!
My arm jerking, eyes wide open,
The terrifying eternity abruptly ends,
Leaving behind in my waking
The pleading cries,
I have to write!
I have to write! |
