- If you wanna add sound,do you also play music and wanna compose on computer?Then add 32bit scard,not 16bit multimedia card or SB16bit with daughterboard such as YamahaXG.
- If not 16 bit is enuff,you'll be playing audioCD,enjoy viewing movie if you got MPEG and play some not complicated midi as well as play WAv files.
- If you wanna enjoy the future of the net then try Realaudio adding to your waveplayer,midi player is up to you ,your soundcard and your surfing time.

Cyberwise,sounds used on the net are coarsely just wavefile ( WAV ),midifile ( MID ) and module ( MOD )
WAV is the recording of sound result that is it's a wave signal so it's gonna be large.The recording of your voice for 2-3 sec will be 50 0-600Kbytes
MID is the recording of the function of how midi keyboard is played therefore it's a little of quality.
MOD kinda like mid but you can use sound samples from other songs in yours,I know little of mod since it's not as widely used as midi.I think cos it run on DOS only.But if you got mod f iles you can change it to mid by using Winjammer sequencer.I'l l talk about sequencer later.
DEVICES MADE FAMOUS BY THE NET
WAV is used mostl y by famous artists as short samples,I guess it's because audience can't learn w hat been recorded not like MID,the latter is function recording so you can see w hat been played,even see the notes,every inches of each track.But the drawback o f WAv is its large quantity,to hear it you have to wait to download all of it.( you play it by waveplayer )
So along came RealAudio ( RA )you don't have to w ait for long,it's smaller and can streamout sound after 2-3 sec.Streaming means functioning while downloading.But you gotta encode WAV to be RA first using Real audio encoder and to hear it audience must instal Realaudio in their system.Now Realaudio been used by lot of famousHomepages such as Sony music,David Bowie,Ste ve Vai to name just a few.Installing Realaudio is a good payoff in the future,you can download it free at its homepage.
MID on the other hand is used a lot by unknown artists on the net and that's a pretty large group.Because of its small amount,the ability to show notes so you can learn difficult arrangements easily.But still you have to wait while downloading
so here comes Crescendo plus,it'll stream out midi just like realaudio do to .ra files.( You play midi with midiplayers such as Crescendo,Yamaha midplug,Netscape midiplayer,SBmidiplayer....a lot more )Download Cres at its site.Yamaha also available for free( beta version ). In this category Yamaha mid plug will suit users without its Yamaha board or module cos it can play XG sound of its own.( XG is expanded GM by YAMAHA )
