SiamWEB: Thai girls for a wife? here?

We are not horny Thai girls!

Personally, I hate writing this article because, frankly, I am sometimes a counter example of the topic. However, I blindly believe that the majority of Thai girls in Siamweb would probably benefit from it. So here goes.

The problem of Thai women being assumed horny by nationality is not new, both in real life and on the internet. There are numerous factors that contribute to this situation. One is probably the world famous red-light district in Bangkok and Pattaya. In SiamWeb, the problem appears on the love message board and in the form of e-mail harassment.

Many SiamWeblers worry that these events may discourage some sensitive SiamWeb members from participating. There have been talks of setting policy and regulate postings to provide a better environment for the more conservative Thais.

IMHO, censoring is not the way to go. Because there are many ways that the a post can be interpreted and then there are dangers of becoming a hypocrite. Many issues are open for debate, for example, How do u know when to censor? What if the post is sarcastic? How do u distinguish between bad taste and sexy humor?

As a last attempt before resorting to censorship, I urge the visitors and posters of SiamWeb to carefully consider what is appropriate and what is not. Free speech comes with responsibility. One should always be sensitive about the audience. Keep in mind the most of the SiamWeblers are more interested in meaningful conversations and making new friends, than the fuck-me-i'm-yours kind of statements.

Special guidelines for lonely men searching for a Thai wife: While it is true that Thai women seeking foreign men for financial stability do exist in some part of Thailand, there has been no report of female SiamWeblers with such intent. In fact, the many SiamWeblers have expressed frustration and boredom in conversing with companion-deprived men. Therefore, please refrain from making a fool of yourselves. I sympathize with your need for a Thai companion. There are much more effective ways of acquiring a Thai wife,i.e., contacting wife-seeking agencies in Thailand.

Here are some tips on interacting in SiamWeb:

1) Please kindly refrain from assuming that all Thai women are looking for a husband and will fall at your feet when she sees that you are capable of providing her "American citizenship".

2) Unless a female member of SiamWeb explicitly ask for sex, do not offer. Keep the flirting clean and most of us will be happy.

3) SiamWeb is not a mail-order bride business. (But if you are willing to spend 5 figures in US dollars, we'll talk :) ).

To Thai girls: My alter ego also wants to provide guidelines for those naive few who may become shocked by an unsolicited lewd e-mail from outerspace.

1) Don't read it. :)

2) In case that it is too late and you've already read the nasty e-mail:

Ignore it. It's just an e-mail. It can not bite. You are not obligated to reply.
If you find the e-mail excessively offensive, forward it to the admin or root of the domain. Request that they disable the account. If don't know how to do this forward it to art@bulky.cwru.edu with heading "SiamWeb S.H.I.T." (Sexual Harassment on the InterneT).
Toughen up girls. Life is tough. Don't cry and run home every time a construction worker whistles at you. Someday Thai women will cease to be seen as a sex object. Until then we just have to stick together and make it better.

For those Thai women who decided that "I ain't joining SiamWeb anymore because there are too many creeps". Think again. SiamWeb creates an opportunity to explore new friendships and share ideas. Are you gonna give up your right just because some creep sent you a nasty e-mail? You don't win by quitting na ja.

A person who seeks out a relationship based on race is stereotyping and may be in for a big surprise

"Why don't we introduce them [the Thai-wife-seeking crowd] to you? That will scare them off..haha".

IMHO, there is nothing evil about ignorance. Stereotyping results from being misinformed. We can help change that without offending interracial couples. [See Siamweb's Thai women online]

Id hoped to learn more about my Thai friends culture by visiting this site, but unfortunatly most of what I've read has been an outpouring of racial and ethnic stereotyping from people who have never really gotten to know a Thai person much less a Thai family in thier lives. One important point that I'd like to make is that if you are unable as a non asian, to understand and/or respect Buddhism you arent doing yourself or your "partner" any favors by persuing a serious relationship. All of the Thai people that I know are people that I met here in the U.S.A. and I know many, since Im active in our Buddhist Temple. One thing I've noticed about all of them is that NONE of them are typical. I've never met a Thai, Lao, Cambodian or Vietnamese woman that behaved in the 'caucasian fantasy stereotype' way. The only valad generalization that I could make is that they are more willing to hold up thier end of a relationship than most American women are.

Hi All, first time I have looked at this site. I am an Aussie guy and I have been to Thailand several times (not for sex holidays) and found it one of the best countries I have been to. I love the happy and friendly nature of the people and I agree with anyone who say's that Thai women are attractive. But I think that the way some of the men in Thailand are as well as the economic conditions are causing the problems that exist there now with prostitution and the way women are used and abused. But as a tourist anyone who visits Thailand should show the same respect to the people as they would in their own country, even if the lady is a prostitute. I can somehow feel about the hard relationship between Thai girls and Farangs. I mean,....people look down on any interacial relationship. I come from Indonesia,.....where many many people are in interacial relationship. And most of them (not all) are bargirls and old westerners. That's what made people look down on them. Everytime there's an interacial couples,....it's usually the bargirls and the westerners and they have cute little child. I don't blame them,......it's their life. Hello all. The first (and last) time I posted a message on here was way back on August 2nd 1997. Since then I have been back to Thailand 3 times and all of my initial good impressions about the country remain with me.
The only thing that I would consider to be the downside to one of my visits was when I went to Phuket to see some Thai and Philipino friends who live there. To cut a long story short, I was introduced to a very nice girl who worked at one of the hotels. We seemed to get on very well and agreed to meet the next day and visit Wat Chalong. We continued to see each other for the next 4 days and although I was not looking for any romance I began to like her very much. She felt the same about me......or so she said! After the 4th day, one of my Thai friends told me that he was virtually certain that the girl who I had been spending time with was a prostitute. I naturally felt upset at this so I went to see her and asked if it was true what I had heared. She burst into tears and admitted that it was true, but did not want to tell me. Although I was not happy that she had been dishonest with me I told her that it was her life, and I had no right to tell her how to do things. We agreed to stay friends and promised to write to each other after my return to England. I got some nice letters from her at first, but then she started to write to me asking for money. Maybe she is a genuine person, who knows....maybe time will tell. I have seen several cases where Western men have lost a lot of money and suffered heartache in similar situations. I know some bar girls just seem to be interested in money, but I still stand by my original beliefs that the majority of them are just ordinary girls who would just like to have normal secure lives and have no alternative to do other than what they do. Indeed there are 3 bar girls who I am good friends with now. There is nothing sexual in our friendships and we just do things like touring the island and going out for meals. There is no pressure on either side to take things further. It's all about mutual respect. So the message to my fellow farang is to respect Thai people, after all it's their country you are in, and they will respect you too. Sometimes I got really angry because a lot of Western men seemed to be treating Thai girls like dirt, so it is not suprising that some bar girls treat Western men in the same way is it?
I still think that the vast majority of Thais are very nice, helpful and polite. My holiday was made more special due to the nice way people treated me. My love affair with Thailand will continue for the rest of my life and I am looking forward to my next visit there sometime later this year.

As an American male in Thailand, I was very pleased
by the country with the exception that most Thai people
viewed me as being there strictly for sex. I was a visitor
vacation, but my intent was to visit a beautiful country
and have a great time(which I did. Most of my time was spent

In agreement with what Pete said about not all thai girls being sex hungry prostitutes,I would like to further qualify this by saying not all bar girls are this way either.Most tourists only ever see the farang side of Thai prostitution and so will be unaware of the vast scale of the sex industry catering for the Thai male and more specifically the Thai male elite.Though I greatly admire Thailand its culture and its people I have to say after years of contact with the country certain aspects depress me.Thailand is still despite the weath and afluence of Bangkok a developing nation which is characterised by a great deal of inequality particularly between rich and poor,urban and rural and men and women.Add to this a country which has emerged from a feudal system called the sakdina system suddenly being confronted with tne materialitic values which cotact with the west and economic growth have brought about and you are bound to have severe social problems.Looking to the future I see the young and educated as the solution as they are begining to question the authority of their elders (something unheard in traditional Thai society ) and in many cases are living in more stable and loving relationships than previous generations.By this I mean that young Thai couples now live together before deciding to get married and women are begining to have greater sexual freedom with out being branded as prostitutes.In the past Thai men were traditionaly encouraged to be promiscuous were as Thai women had to be completly pure and innocent at all times,pre-marital relatioships were out of the question which is why the men went the way of coffee shops,massage parlours or anything else disguised as abrothel were sex could be obtained.Not suprisingly this gave them when they did eventually get married a pretty lax attitude towards monogamy and being faithfull (not all but agreat many).
Back to what I wanted to say in defense of bar girls;most of the type that a farang will meet will have come from the poorest regions of Thailand,a large percentage from Esarn or the North East many have children or are divorced.Many face not only the normal problems of poverty brought on by drought ( in Esarn )the fact that if they are divorced or widowed according to traditional values still in evidence in their part of the country it is extremely difficult to get re married.Many also are helping to pay off family debts incured in times of hardship back home to ruthless loan sharks.O.K. for sure their are some who may have originally come to some were like Bangkok to work in a factory and were captivated by the Mercedes Benz, mobile phones ect. to which they could not possibly aspire and went out on a quest to find asuper rich elderly farang.But considering the way in which power and money = status in Thailand who can realy blame them especially when so many Thai's look down on any one who is "ban nork" (rural-provincial a hill billy).A great many desperately want to get out of thailand so they can earn foreign money so they can return one day with heads held high to be fully fledged members of the nouveux riche.Some take the get rich quik philosophy marry an elderly slightly perverted rich foriegner and often their plan works well and they return to thailand having already provided enough money for their family for a new home and some land.If you ever go travelling of the beaten track in Thailand you will sometimes come across vast great houses in the midddle of very poor villages that have only recently been conected with electricity.This is a poor Farmers daughter's interpretation of being successful,unfortunatly it then oftenbecomes a case of that girl once poor her self looking down on her neighbour who may at one time have been very unkind to her about her profession.Having said all this not every one is like this and many bar girls are just as lonely and in nead of love as the western men who not knowing how else to meet Thai women end up in bars.The problem for the girls therefore is how to distinguish the genuine nice man from the pervert and for the western man the genuine nice girl from the desperate gold digger.
In conclusion to this I would urge all people Thai,Farang or whatever to not be so judgemental and remember everyone no matter what they do is a person in side.What realy matters is not harming others either emotionally or physically.Another thing is that I think it is important to realise just what a complex society thailand has.It is not for outsiders to try and change it but we can do a lot to limit negative influences on it , what works in the west doesn't always work in the east.Finally I apologise for my poor spelling I dead to think what this would have been like if I'd written this in Thai. Okay, I am gonna be quick. Point 1: westerners are not the only ones who should take the blame for the current reutation of the Thai female.
What they do is wrong, and animalistic but it is down to the Thai people to put a stop to it. It starts from the family. It is better to die on your feet than live on your knees.
To the women in the ads, these men are not looking for love. They can find it at home. When you agree to meet up with them, you are going to be used. You to are probably going to use them.
I know that a western woman would not go anywhere near an asian/black man if she didnt have to. I think that in this scenario, Thais should adopt the same principle.
These people have no love for themselves and therefore cannot love you. They just want a reliable source of sexual stimuation at a price. To be honest, I see some of them walking the streets of London and New York,
and I say to myself, you could have paid for a better looking broad. These people exist at hte bottom of the food chain. They are the scavangers that eat what the lions have left behind, or would not take.
But htere is promise in all of this. We are coming to an age of equality. And my father once told me that whatever evils you do come back to haunt you.
Someday soon, maybe, their mothers and sisters will have to sell themselves for cheap money, and plastic love.
Only then will they see the pain thay have put countless millions through.
It seem to be a trait inherent in European/West asian society to devalue the woman.
So be it. You shall soon see this is not the way. For those of you that say "I linke the culture"
gimme a break. Most of you know nothing of Buddhism, and could not be good Buddhists. I am not buddhist,
but I live by the philosophy of helping my fellow human. Either that or leave them alone. This has meant

says asians do not like blacks: the only ones that are like this are probably few and far between. Theu have probably been brainwashed by the same negative media that has damged the way the world views their society.
Fortunately, they number very few, and are probably the type looking for a man with money. The majority of them are people like the majority, god hardworking honorable people that respect thr worth of the individual.

Wow what a site. I like this site and unless I find something that would be counter productive to AmeriThai.com I'll add a link or banner to it. I get a kick out of everyones discussions on Thai/Farang relationships or more specifically Farangs who stereotype Thai women. I want to throw in me tid bit here so here it goes.

Not all Farangs think Thai women are nympho models. Over the last few years I've visited Thailand several times and used my two degrees and super IQ :) to study both Thai women and the Farangs that "hunt them". Here is my evaluation and yes it does include some stereotypes. Most farangs in Thailand are there for the cheap sex trade at least in some part and most Thai "Ladies" love Thailand and don't want to be with a farang because it makes them look like a bar girl. Now here is where I start offending people. I've found those Farangs seeking a Thai wife are looking for various things. Most Arabics are looking for a wife/slave. Most Germans are looking for a submissive sex kitten. Most Australians are blowing smoke to get to sleep with a nice girl, as Australia already has a ton of cute available ladies. And most Americans listen to their friends that were in the Navy and think Thai women will give them great sex even though they are old and fat, so they look for a wife that is sexy but not so hot they will lose them to Leonardo look a likes.

Now that I've offended most of my fellow Americans (since all of us are horny and 3/4 of us are fat) let me blow a hole in this stereotype and one of Thailands great stereotypes. First off my story and why I don't, and many other Farangs don't fit this stereotype.

At 30yo I was married to a very attractive American lady and was living a traditional married life. Good job, big house, dog, three cars, no kids and an attractive wife. So I figure it's time to have some kids but the wife doesn't want any because she thinks it will make her look old and she doesn't want to trade in the sports car for a van. I'm wondering if she has me and I've always been mister loyal why is she worried so much about her looks and man getting sports car. Well one day I come home early from the office and find her in bed with a 16yo boy. I give her the boot since I can't trust a butterfly and start feeling sorry for myself. After a year of pitty I realized that it was our American "young is it" culture that was partially to blame. I want a family and I want an attractive wife so I decide to travel the planet until I find a culture that produces everything I want 1. a culture where women are loyal to a man so long as he is in return 2. a country where women are small (I prefer that) and attractive. 3. a culture where a 31yo man could still find a quality women in her twenties.

So off I go. First year I visit Europe and found most women thought marriage meant no longer calling your boyfriends on weekends. Then Japan where I found the women were a little bigger than I prefer, China where the women were attractive but seemed to be ready to marry anyone if they would just take them out of China, and then Bangkok. In Bangkok I found everything I was looking for but had one problem. Thai women are very very hard to meet as a Farang. All the nice women are scared to death their friends will see them with a Farang and assume they are doing it for money. Every time I meet a single or sometimes not single Thai lady in a business meeting they wait until we are alone for some reason and then are very open and freindly, but put another Thai in the picture and I might as well have died. So I figure I'll try a dating service, works in America. Problem is Thais are are so image sensitive the real quality women don't seem to go to services. So here I sit in my American dream world traveling back to Thailand every six months hoping I can find the perfect spot in Thailand where nice girls go and they aren't in sight of their friends so I can actually meet one.

My point is this. Yes, most Farangs have bad intentions for their visit, but not all. And yes, most Thai girls with Farangs (in Thailand at least) are bar girls. But not every single male Farang in Thailand is seeking a nympho women and not every Thai girl with a Farang is a bar girl. Let's all pitch are stereotypes and we can make this world a much happier place. At least for me since I could find a nice attractive person to share this damn house :).

All countries have their qualities and I really do believe Thai people are wonderful. Americans are happy because we still have great things but if you were to put Americans in the financial situation Thailand is in you would have a country filled with anger. I truly believe America is the greatest place on the planet to live and Thailand has the greatest people. Thats why I started AmeriThai.com, to try and bridge the gap between our countries and then I find this site and I have hope that things are starting to change.

I think this network could be a good thing if people (males) use common-sense and respect in their views of the Thai lady, that is exactly what she is, a lady. Any man who does not see her as such should find another path. Thai women are, in my opinion, the absolute most beautiful creatures (human) on this planet. are very attractive, but I've never done well

The problem with farangs is that we come from cultures with 2000 years of Christian sexual suppresion. Which is just a population domination mechanism that was primarily used by the Romans. If you study Asian sexuality you find that though there are periods and areas witin their cultures of sexual suppresion it never matches the magnitude of suppresion in the West. For the most part it is treated as just a fact of life like eating, laughing and shitting. In this so called enlightened age countries that don't conform to the West are'nt destroyed ( at least overtly ) there indulged. Thailand is getting it's brains fucked out. Even farang women are coming for Thai men. What needs to happen is a healthy, natural, world wide sexual revolution so that there isn't such an obsession with a certain race or culture. So Thai women when you condemn us perverted farang men do it more specifically. Condemn the pervert training camp called Christianity and any other religion or political philosophy that puts sex in an unnatural context. I am looking for advice. While recently in Thailand,I met a nice Thai woman who I have become very fond of (note: I did not meet her in a bar). It became obvious very quickly that there are many differences between Thai and American cultures and customs, particularly in the area of male/female relationships. I am trying to understand the Thai "courtship" process and to hear about how others have bridged the gap between cultures. I have already read several books on Thailand and Thai culture, but none really talk about the dating process. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

hello to all the people out there. I'm always liked to travel and i've been to many places in this world. I've been to South America, Karibien Ilands, Northamerica and many places in Europe. But when i visited Thailand the first time i knew i will come back. Sure cause it is a cheap place to go where you still can live good with a strong currency but this don't give us "farangs" not the right to disrespect other people and cultures. In my opinion we all live on one earth and we all the same. No matter what color, race or religion we have. Some poeple just were more lucky to be born at right place at the right time and nobody should take advantage of it. You have good and bad people everywhere and this has nothing to do with your nationality. When I went to Thailand a saw some Foreigners who acted stuppid and they thought they can buy everything. But remember guys you never buy love.
I hope the Thai poeple understand and realize that not all farangs are the same. Thailand is very butyfull and your poeple are just great and i hope you will stay like that and not take too much o
