Well, i had experienced
sexually harassment on the net myself. So what i'm going to say here is
you have to stand up for yourself when someone harasses u in the sexual
way!! Don't let him get you down, try to find a way to stop it. Once i
typed it out on mainscreen in the chat room, telling people that this
person is bothering me. Then many people in the chat room started to gang
up and told him off so he left the room afterward!! It may not work everytime
but i'm sure there're alot of ways else to stop sexual harassment on the
net. And trust me, there'are many nice and respectful white guys out there.
So don't think that all the white guys are going to harrass you. Actually
there're even some thai or asian guys who harass the thai or asian girls
themselves, what a shame!!!

with that.. Somehow.. it won't change anything.. cuz we, thai, got very
bad reputation to the other.. I don't know why.. every country on earth
do have prositudes.. may be they are more than us... but they wouldn't

I couldn't agree
more about the article above. Nothing pisses me off more than mindless
morons who have their brains between their legs! Having lived and travelled
extensively in Asia for many years, I often feel embarrased by the offensive
behaviour of many western men who see Asian women as nothing more than
sex objects. It reinforces common stereotypes of both the Asian ladies
and western men. I only wish that I could believe there would be a time
when people accept each other for who they are, and recognize the intrinsic
value of every human soul - irrespective of the appearance of the body
in which it is housed! Maybe I'm a bit of a dreamer? But my many friends
throughout Asia have made my life so much more pleasant just by the friendship
they have given me, and I consider myself extremely fortunate to return
such friendships.

I had experience
on sexual harassment myself. But it is in real life, at work from my boss.
So this might not really fall into the subject here. Anyway, I just want
to share something. When this thing happens, the victim tends feel powerless
and threatened in some way and to a certain point. I believe a lot of
victims know what to do. It's just that to be able to do it or not is
another story. But I think the bottom line is if possible, avoid that
person. And speak up. Yes, DO SPEAK UP. It might not really solve the
problem, but it should lessen it to some points. For IRC, it seems there
are already advice provided. I just want to add that it is so much easier
to igonore those people in here because one, you do not know them personally;
two, you do not have to meet them everyday; and three, they are just unknown
f...ing shit. Hope everyone have pleasant IRC experience.

All I've got to say
about this issue having to do with sexual harrassment and disrespect to
Thai women is that those perverts are just low-down dirty stinky naive
men! Who needs them and their shit. Stand up for yourselves and keep your
head up high 'cause if you ever run into any creeps all you gotta do is
tell them off and put them in their places. Men do get intimidated by
women that will speak out. So please don't let people..especially men
belittle you or make you feel worthless. I myself as a Thai woman get
lots of little heart breaking comments but you have to stand on both your
feet..not one and give those men a good kick they'll never forget. It's
like this..if you respond the creeps are gonna keep bugging..if you don't

It's
up to each individual to define "sexual harassment". People on the net have
different backgrounds and are of different cultures. Some might be more
open minded than others. Generally, the western people are more open minded
about sex than Thais. Like a foreigner who should respect the customs of
the country, there's the same practice when joining a Thai channel.
